Rocci Joins the Pirates

The South West Metro Pirates are very excited to welcome Maddison Rocci to our MMG NBL1 Women's team for the 2023 season.

Maddy played her whole junior career at Werribee in Victoria. In 2014 she gained a spot in the U17 Sapphires for the World Cup and then 2 years later the U19 Gems Australian World Cup team. In 2020 she was selected as part of the Australian Opals squad.

Maddy began her WNBL career in 2017 when she signed with the Canberra Capitals. Her time with the Caps being very successful winning back to back WNBL titles. She is currently playing for the Southside Flyers in the WNBL where she is averaging 13 points 6 assists and 7 rebounds a game. Last year in the NBL1 North competition she averaged 26 points 5 assists and 3 rebounds.

Maddy with her tenacious defence and strong drive to the basket will give us some major strength in the back court. She will join the team at the conclusion of the WNBL season in March.

Welcome to The Ship Maddy!
