The Pirates are looking for expressions of interest from people who would like to make a difference at our association by joining one of our sub-committees. Sub-committees explore issues and/or make recommendations to the Board/CEO in their area to make the association better for all and keep us moving forward in the right direction.
SWM Sub-Committee Descriptions
Junior Representative - This sub-committee supports the Junior Rep Program at each age level, starting at trials, then during the season and through to the end of season awards. They support staff to run trials, send out offer letters, manage acceptances, answer questions from members, discuss conflicts & issues when they arise & problem solve any issues. They also set any behaviour expectations & help facilitate the management of these expectations.
Senior Representative - This sub-committee assists in the planning & delivery of the NBL1 & QSL programs. They provide assistance as required by the CEO & Board to ensure both senior programs run as efficently & cost effective as possible to ensure success both on & off the court.
Coaching - This sub-committee provides support and development to coaches at South West Metro Basketball Association, including information, resources, development opportunities, networking and culture.
Hibiscus Stadium Management - This sub-committee assists with the operational procedures and strategic planning for the new development of Hibsicus Stadium.
Domestic (NEW) - This sub-committee assists in the planning & development of both junior & senior domestic competitions which run at South West. They support the competitions staff to help build our grassroots competitions to be the best they can possibly be.
Fundraising/Sponsorship (NEW) - This sub-committee assists to strategically source & build on the Sponsorship opportunities within the Association & also works with junior clubs & rep teams on any minor or major fundraising opportunities within the Association both internally & externally.
