SUNDAY NIGHT MEN'S BASKETBALL COMPETITIONS AT HIBISCUS - OUR NEXT SEASON IS STARTING SOON!

South West Metro Basketball Inc. has now opened up the team nominations for our Sunday Night Men's competitions starting in October 2019 at Hibiscus Sports Complex, 90 Klumpp Rd, Upper Mount Gravatt.

There will be at least four divisions and possibly five, depending on the number of nominations received.

In the season we are wrapping up this weekend, we have had over 50 teams participating, from our Gold division of QBL/SBL/Rep talent, through to our White division of semi-serious/social basketballers.

This will be a 19 week season, including 3 weeks Grading and 2 weeks of Finals.

Games will be played on, and up to, Sunday 15 December 2019, then breaking for Christmas, New Year and Australia Day, and recommencing on Sunday 2 February 2020. The last of the round games will be played on Sunday 14 March 2020, with Semi-finals and Grand Finals over the next two weeks.

Games are played in 55-minute timeslots from 2.50pm, with 8.20pm being the latest game of the night.

All teams must wear numbered, matching singlets and if you have team shorts, all players must be in them, otherwise, the team must wear one uniform colour (eg. all in black). Uniforms must be worn by the 1st week of points, otherwise uniform penalties may be applied.

All players must be registered members of South West Metro Basketball Inc, which includes Basketball Queensland player insurance for 365 days.

Any players who currently have valid Basketball Queensland player insurance at another association (eg. Logan, Ipswich, Boondall, Brisbane, etc), do not need to pay that component again, until it expires.

South West Metro Basketball Inc. has a "Zero Tolerance" attitude towards official and player abuse, fighting, swearing and bad sportsmanship in general. We have an automatic 2 week ban policy in place for any players who are ejected from the stadium, in the first instance. Second time offenders or any incidents deemed serious enough, will be dealt with at a tribunal hearing.
