Steve Edwards appointed PIRATES Women QBL Coach for 2019

The Pirates are pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Edwards as the Head Coach of the Women's QBL team for 2019.

Steve has an extensive resume of coaching appointments at both Junior and Senior level and will be looking to build on the success of the Pirates from the 2018 season.

At the Junior level Steve has coached four teams at Under 14 National Club Championships and five teams at Under 16 Australian Championships -obtaining two Silver medals and a fourth placing. In the last year he has steered the Ship (as Coaching Director) to win the Harold Peacock Shield for the first time and has won medals at All Schools State Championships in 2016 and 2018.

Steve has been assistant coach as the Lady Spartans won two SEABL Championships and has been the Head Coach in Southern Cup teams which have won a Championship in 2005 (Women) and Runner -up in 2011 (Men).

Steve is excited to add to his role at South West Metro Pirates as the QBL Women's coach and hopes to bring lots of energy and passion to a successful program. His coaching philosophy has been formed from his experience in Australia and the USA, the extensive research he has undertaken and observations of some of the premier coaches and programs from around the globe.
