With Celeste Williams out for three weeks with an ankle injury sustained two days before the first game, Coaches Fiona Hannan and Nikki Bairstow found an ample replacement in rookie Telesia Manumaleuga. Telesia took off the 'learners plates' by posting 24 points off the bench in her first ever QBL game. Celeste threw away the crutches and was literally on her feet willing the girls on from the bench in the loudest way possible. Abi Marsh pumped out 35 mins in the absence of five man import player Erica Carlson and in a bruising encounter came away an impressive 14 rebounds. Sid Parsons with only one team training under her belt, she led the team running our systems and came away with 7 assists and 7 steals to go with her 22 points!
Telesia is unavailable to play, Charlie Kiemann is nursing a back injury, towering centre Erica Carlson arrives tonight but may not be able to play as she is recovering from a wrist injury. The debut of 6'4"young forward Ashlee Hannan will be a welcomed addition to the roster for the game on Sunday. Ashlee had state U16 team commitments last week and will most likely suit up and play a significant role this week. Girls tip off at 12.00noon. Bring your MUM!
